It’s 2019! The rain has stopped and although it is cold the sun has been out and we can see the islands across the water. Oban is beautiful and we have taken a lot of pictures. Mum got up and went for a run…
Then we all went for a walk on Ganavan Sands. Some people went for a swim in the sea, the grown ups thought they were crazy but I wanted to go in with them.
We relaxed after lunch and my little sister got her telescope out. We could see a lot of things across the water and it was fun to try and find things.
Everyone felt quite tired so we went for another walk to wake ourselves up before dinner. We still haven’t seen any otters but the sky was a really bright red and looked amazing!
Hi Martha, thanks for all the information about Oban. I haven’t been there, but reading your blog and looking at your photos makes me want to visit. It looks like you’ve all been having a really good time, except for Eliza on New Year’s Eve – she looked very grumpy at having been woken up! Could I just check on the birds in your photos, are they a curlew and a heron?

Hi Alison, thank you for the reply. The birds in the photos are a heron and a curlew but we also saw turnstones, hooded crows and robins. You should visit Oban, the sunset is beautiful. x

Think I will get to visit Oban this year, as possibly going over to Mull. We will be able to get the ferry from Oban. I couldn’t remember what a Turnstone looked like, so I have looked at some images on Google ☺

Ps well done to Mum, for going off for a run ☺
